Reveal and announce
When a boat enters the Scatter lane, reveal the next event. Read it aloud and place its marker in the middle of the board. The condition applies openly rather than being resolved in one player’s private notes.
The event remains active until a Bonus Dock or lighthouse route space clears its marker. Once it is cleared, return to the regular order.
The three original examples
Fog Bank: every boat pauses at the next open buoy, and the table chooses a new reading order. Big Wave: move every token one route mark, then draw one shared response card.
Bright Gull: trade one visible score chip for a look ahead at the Bonus Dock. These examples retain the reference effects; there is no added random supply gain or loss.
Resolve the group effect together
Let the event reader finish before anyone moves a token. Confirm the same condition for every boat, then make the update where all players can see it.
A request to reread is part of keeping the table clear. The shared event creates a story beat, not a personal penalty or a hidden result.
